Coffee is undoubtedly a drink that pampers with rich taste qualities, as well as providing vigor and a sense of strength. That is why almost everyone knows and uses it daily. However, in recent years, it has become increasingly popular not only to enjoy traditional morning coffee, but also to seek new taste sensations in the form of various coffee beverages.
Everything new is interesting and engaging, but often also causes caution and "first meeting awkwardness". To successfully avoid this and immediately find out how to prepare a truly excellent and enjoyable coffee drink, we invited real professionals from the coffee roastery and cafe chain ROCKET BEAN ROASTERY to test the new coffee brewing device.
EXPERIENCE WITH INNOVATIONS
As the company's CEO Ancis Romanovskis says, his team has been actively working in the coffee market since 2006 and currently not only offers the highest quality coffee in two cafes, which are also shops, on Miera Street and Dzirnavu Street, but also engages in coffee roasting. Moreover, their offer includes only natural "specialty" coffee, which they personally select by traveling to coffee plantations in Africa, Central America, South America, and Asia.
Ancis and his team's goal is not only to offer the highest quality coffee that fully reveals all the taste characteristics of this drink, but also to educate the public and promote the popularity of coffee, proving that by using years of honed skills, abilities, and knowledge, world-class coffee can also be created in Riga, truly appreciated by coffee industry experts in many parts of the world.
There is no doubt that Ancis and his team are the best experts to test the new coffee brewing device!
READY FOR THE TEST
To make a coffee drink, you first need to "get acquainted" with the device itself. Within the first few minutes, the ROCKET BEAN ROASTERY experts conclude – there is nothing complicated here. The device consists of a filter, a coffee brewing carafe, and a serving carafe. It's quite simple – to get the drink, you just need to fill the filter with coffee, pour cold water over it, and let it steep for at least 12 hours.
Most importantly – you need good coffee, and "specialty" coffee, carefully sourced and knowledgeable, will be most suitable here.
As part of the test, the ROCKET BEAN ROASTERY team decided to prepare three different beverages using coffee grounds from Kenya, Nicaragua, and Brazil.

RESULTS DO NOT DISAPPOINT
During the experiment, the preparation process for each drink took 24 hours. Although the device's instruction manual states that 12 hours of coffee brewing time is sufficient, the "Rocket Bean Roastery" masters admit that it would be better to extend this process to a period of 14 to 24 hours. The reason is quite simple – the longer the coffee filtration process, the richer and more nuanced the flavor bouquet of the drink, the bitterness disappears, the drink becomes sweeter and, while retaining the invigorating properties of coffee, acquires the characteristics of a truly enjoyable drink.
Before tasting the prepared coffee beverages, Ancis shares his conclusions:
- Firstly, the device is easy to use, and by reading the instruction manual, anyone can prepare a coffee drink;
- Device maintenance is easy – after preparing another drink, all you have to do is clean the filter and carafes. Furthermore, cleaning the filter is very convenient – the grounds can be thrown directly into the bin – no sink is needed;
- The device's technology is particularly commendable, as the experiment confirmed that with relatively simple steps and a little patience, it is possible to prepare a truly excellent coffee drink.
PREPARATION SECRETS
Ancis explains that the test confirmed – to achieve a better result, it is necessary to find the right coffee grind. The conclusion – a truly good drink is obtained by using a coarser coffee grind, one that surpasses the traditional espresso grind.
As a result of the test, 70-90 grams of coffee and 700 milliliters of water were poured into the filter, yielding 560 milliliters of beverage after 24 hours.
To ensure a truly enjoyable end result, coffee industry experts recommend paying attention not only to the choice of coffee but also to the quality of the water. Furthermore, it is advisable to pour water over the coffee slowly, unhurriedly, and in several stages.

Enough theory, let's get to the tasting! And here's where the real magic begins.
First, we taste Kenyan coffee. The drink surprises with rich, fruity flavor notes. A surprise! The sensations are completely different from drinking mass-produced coffee. "Of course," smiles the owner of ROCKET BEAN ROASTERY – "that's what real coffee tastes like."
Nicaraguan coffee offers different sensations again – sparkling, fresh, invigorating, and slightly reminiscent of chocolate flavors. Brazil – classic and slightly fruity.
After tasting the drinks, we conclude that by using "specialty" coffees, the range of flavor experiments is truly rich, while if we use lower quality coffee, the drink will definitely be more bitter and "heavy".
WHAT'S NEXT?
Once the prepared drinks have been tasted, we know what's next! The device must be used, and then delicious coffee will enter daily life not only in cafes, but also at home and on travels, as it can be easily transported and the coffee drink can be prepared in almost any conditions.
Let's be honest! Does the device have any imperfections? We conclude that we noticed one – the serving carafe is beautiful, but quite massive, so in everyday use, the coffee drink would still be poured into a mug for portability. But that's all.
If the coffee is good, everything will work out!
Let's enjoy!
