Warm and classic cocktails for the festive season

The end of the year and the beginning of the New Year are a time when you can prepare various new cocktails at home and try out the home bartender - cocktail making kit received as a gift. We offer various cocktail recipes that will be useful during the holidays. From classic cocktails to warm drinks!

MULLED WINE

Ingredients:

  • Wine – 1 bottle
  • Brown sugar – 60g
  • Cinnamon stick – 1
  • Orange – 1
  • Dried bay leaf – 1
  • Star anise – 1
  • Brandy – 60ml
  • Ground nutmeg

Preparation:

  • Cut the orange in half. Pour the wine into a saucepan and add the orange, sugar, bay leaf, and spices.
  • Heat gently until the sugar has melted. Taste to see if you want the wine sweeter and add sugar to taste.
  • Stop heating, stir in the brandy and strain into glasses. Serve with an orange slice and spices.

HOT CIDER

Ingredients:

  • Dry cider or fresh apple juice – 2l
  • Apples – 2
  • Cloves
  • Cinnamon sticks – 4 to 6
  • Allspice – 5 to 6
  • Grated orange peel – 1
  • Dark rum – optional

Preparation:

  • Stick cloves into the apples. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and heat for 30 minutes. Make sure it doesn't boil.
  • Pour into a heat-resistant bowl. Use a ladle to pour into glasses. Garnish with an apple slice.

HOT RED BERRY COCKTAIL

Ingredients:

  • Frozen berries – 500g
  • Sugar – 250g
  • Water – 500ml
  • Cinnamon sticks – 2
  • Nutmeg – 1/2
  • Cloves – 6
  • Star anise – 2 to 3
  • Mandarin – 1

Preparation:

  • Place berries, spices, mandarin, and water in a large pot. Cover and boil until the berries lighten in color and have released most of their juice. Make sure the berries don't break apart, as this will make the drink thick.
  • Strain through a fine sieve. Pour into a bottle and store in the refrigerator until serving.
  • Before serving, add 1 part of the prepared drink and 4 parts hot water to a glass.

NEGRONI

Ingredients:

  • Gin – 30ml
  • Vermouth – 30ml
  • Campari – 30ml
  • Ice cube (50x50mm) – 1
  • Ice spheres (30mm) – a few
  • Grated orange peel

Preparation:

  • Place a 50x50mm ice cube in a lowball glass.
  • Place the ingredients in a mixing glass or shaker and fill with 30x30mm ice spheres. Stir thoroughly.
  • Slowly strain over the 50x50mm ice cube and garnish with grated orange peel.

OLD FASHIONED

Ingredients:

  • Orange – 1
  • Maraschino cherries – 1
  • Sugar syrup – 1 teaspoon
  • Bitters – 2 to 3 drops
  • Ice cubes
  • Whiskey or bourbon – 50ml
  • Lemon – 1

Preparation:

  • Peel one large and thick piece of orange peel. Rub the peel inside a whiskey glass and place it in the glass.
  • Add the cherry, sugar syrup, and bitters, then add a few ice cubes. Add half of the whiskey and stir for about 10 seconds. Add more ice cubes and whiskey and stir again.
  • Using a peeler or grater, slowly peel one long strip of lemon zest. Wrap it around your finger and hold it firmly for a few seconds to help it form a shape. Place in the glass and serve.
