As winter recedes and spring begins, it's the perfect time to bring a fresh spring feeling into your home and start spring cleaning. If you've been accumulating things during the colder months of the year without getting rid of unnecessary or unwanted items, then spring is the perfect moment to do so. Spring is the time when nature awakens, animals awaken, so it would be beneficial for us humans to listen to nature's processes and "wake up from winter sleep."
Where to start? We have prepared tips that you can consider if you want to organize your home.
1. Set Priorities
It's important to understand which area in your home you want to organize the most. For some, it will be the wardrobe, for others a kitchen cabinet or garage that's just begging for a clean-up. You don't need to organize everything at once; prioritizing will help you focus on one area that needs organizing. We decided to focus on the dish cabinet that we want to organize.
2. Involve Others
Who said spring cleaning has to be boring? Involve others and make it a family activity. Divide tasks and areas to be organized, and put on some motivating music. If you wish, you can mutually agree that after a job well done, you'll do a pleasant joint activity, such as going to the cinema or having dinner together. This way, you won't have to take on all the cleaning tasks alone, and it will definitely go more smoothly and pleasantly.
3. Cleaning
Before you start actively organizing the chosen area, begin with cleaning. If you see dust covering the edges of the shelves, start there – wipe off the dust. Clean the shelves, wash them, and use a vacuum cleaner if necessary. By doing these steps first, you will create a clean environment to then move on to sorting.

4. Sorting
Everything is sparkling? Time for the most important part - sorting out the excess. Are there dishes gifted by friends 15 years ago in the cabinet that you've never used? It's time to get rid of them, even if the thought "they might come in handy someday" crosses your mind. Most likely, if you haven't used them before, you won't use them later either. If you notice mugs with broken handles or plates with chipped edges in the cabinet, you should definitely throw them away, as their practical use will also have ended. Don't forget to ask yourself - do these dishes reflect your current life? Perhaps you no longer like the plates you bought years ago, so don't be afraid to replace them with new ones that suit you better.
5. Reorganization
If you want to change the layout after cleaning and sorting, you can do so. It will give a fresh perspective to your shelf. You can swap the positions of plates or mugs. A small nuance, but it will help introduce a fresh breeze into your home, which is important in spring cleaning.
6. Time to treat yourself!
Is the chosen area finished? Time to treat yourself! If you've been organizing with your family, then it's time for some pleasant relaxation, during which you can discuss what was done and experienced during the day. We remind you that all cleaning doesn't have to be done in one day, but gradually, however, if you feel like doing it – go for it! Remember that spring cleaning is a great way to bring new vibes into your home.
