Thomas Plant, founder of the British company Kitchen Craft, in 1850 establishes a company by naming it after himself. Thomas Plant initially specialized in the manufacturing and wholesale of hardware and household goods. 1996 the name of the company was changed to Kitchen Craft in order to give customers an immediate idea of the direction of the company's activity by the name the itself. Expanding the company's global marketing capabilities, Kitchen Craft became part of Lifetime Brands Inc., the world's leading supplier of kitchenware, cutlery and other home products.

The La Cafetière brand was developed during the Thomas Plant time in 1967 and includes everything about and around enjoying coffee or tea from a comfortable, heat-resistant, elegant and at the same time practical dishes.
